Chandana Bala Kalyan

Chandana Bala Kalyan is a Carnatic classical and contemporary singer as well as a TEDx speaker. She is an A-graded artist in both Carnatic classical and devotional music from All India Radio. Chandana has performed worldwide as a soloist and with various bands, collaborating with artists such as Taufiq Qureshi, Sanjay Divecha, Ranjit Barot, Rajeev Raja, and Trilok Gurtu. Additionally, she has lent her voice to numerous films in Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil, with recent works including RRR, Modern Love Hyderabad, and Valatty.

Chandana has composed many songs that form a significant part of her devotional project, MARMA. She is known for her versatility and the ease with which she traverses various genres. MARMA is a multilingual and multi-generic confluence of spiritual and philosophical poetry from the Bhakti and Sufi saints of the Indian subcontinent, presented in light classical and folk genres with a contemporary fusion. She was invited to present MARMA at the Safi International Festival in Morocco and the Lalaland Festival in Amsterdam.

Chandana has studied under esteemed gurus, including Dr. S. Nataraja Murthy, Smt. Rajamma Keshava Murthy, Sri R.K. Srikanthan, and currently Sri H.S. Sudhindra. Her excellence has been recognized with awards like the Ananya Yuva Puraskara, M.S. Subbulakshmi Award, and Nadajyoti Puraskara. She has also appeared on TV shows such as MTV Coke Studio with Amit Trivedi, Annamayya Paataku Pattaabhishekham on SVBC, and Ra GA Ra Sa on ETV.
